Don't Judge a Poster By Its Movie

While I'm not totally sold on the trailer for Ti West's The House of the Devil, the four posters circulating on the web all look pretty great. Horror movies are as hit-and-miss as ever these days, but they've also yielded some of the most stylized, pleasingly retro posters in recent memory (that early poster for The Strangers comes to mind). West's new film (what ever happened to his Cabin Fever sequel?) will be in theaters on Halloween weekend, but it's already available on VOD, amazon.com and Xbox Live. Here's hoping it's better than his wildly overrated The Roost or even half as evocative as these posters.
