Created by Jonathan Doyle in February 2009, Media Party combines DiscLand -- the long-running DVD column from Hollywood Elsewhere -- with broader coverage of movies and music. Doyle is the creator of Storefront Demme (est. 2002) and a former programmer for the Fantasia International Film Festival and The Trash Palace. From 2007-2008, he was also a Programming Associate for the Toronto International Film Festival. In addition to developing TV series (Strangers in the Home, Imposters) for CMJ Productions, he has written for CBC, inMovies, The Movie Network, HBO Canada, CountingDown.com, Synoptique, Bloody Disgusting, The Festival Daily and several other publications. He is currently a staff film writer for The Loop.
