Origins
Created by Jonathan Doyle in February 2009, Media Party combines DiscLand -- Doyle's long-running DVD column at Hollywood Elsewhere -- with broader coverage of movies and music.
Doyle is the creator of Storefront Demme (est. 2002) -- also now part of the Media Party family -- and a programmer (past and/or present) for the Fantasia International Film Festival and The Trash Palace. From 2007-2008, he was also a Programming Associate for the Toronto International Film Festival. He has written for CountingDown.com, Synoptique, Bloody Disgusting, The Festival Daily and several other publications.
Contributors
In addition to Doyle, Media Party's contributors include Neil Karassik (who also writes Eye on DVD, a weekly DVD column that originated at Eye Weekly), Michael Adams, Sarah Duda, Ken Stuebing and Jason Woloski, all of whom wrote for DiscLand during its Hollywood Elsewhere heyday (2004-2008).
